I saw the sliver of rainbow cake
Stuck to your silky beard.
I saw the growing inches
under my wavering belt.
I saw "us" going downhill
when the cake I managed to steal.
The spring seems to be over and
The birds would sing "deciet".
It was, of course, your birthday
and the crumbs lay on your beard...
Would cake do us part or death?
It's time to put our holy ties to a test.
And oh! like a frenzied freak,
Did I leap for the blessed piece of cake.
The rest remains history and
an icey one at that.
